As we move through 1999 and into the New Millennium, we are enthusiastic and excited about the future, new challenges and the change that it holds. New in 1999 is the location of our monthly meetings at the Decathlon Club in Santa Clara. We look forward to a continued association with them.

We extend a very special thanks to National Semiconductor Corporation for offering our members a wonderful meeting place for the past 6 years.

The HRCA web site will sport a new graphic, designed by Mike Iwamuro, which is also carried out on the cover of this year's HRCA 1999 Directory. The directory, with the updated member bios, is made available for distribution to both members and clients.

As we reflect on 1998, the December Toys-for-Tots Silent Auction, in concert with Westech Career Expo, was a major success and raised over $14,000 which enabled the U.S. Marines to purchase a wealth of toys for Santa Clara children. A special 'Thank You' to all those who participated in the many ways that made this project a success.

Our scholarship program offered more visibility as it expanded in 1998 to include financially disadvantaged students with Human Resource Majors at both California State University Hayward as well as San Jose State University.

HRCA's goal is to serve the HR community in Silicon Valley and the Greater San Francisco Bay Area and to provide educational enhancements, networking and social opportunities for its members. These objectives have been sustained since 1991.

Constant change is a way of life in business today. It is our hope that as we offer additional Professional Development seminars and schedule valued speakers in this new year, members will continue to benefit from the learning and networking. It is also our hope that through continued learning and networking our clients will be offered creative solutions to their HR consulting needs - solutions that work.
